Position Purpose

This position will serve as an important member of the PS & RA team. The selected individual will report to Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs Manager of North AP and work on Japan specific product stewardship activities for all business units.

 

Considering the value of PSRA site support in Japan, this position will be important in helping business maintaining existing market and fulfilling new demand under current regulatory framework with emerging changes.

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Build up basic knowledge of Eastman products
  • Develop and implement the JHOSPA notification plan and MHLW PL compliance & petition plan for impacted BUs, including but not limited to specialty plastics, adhesives, coatings, etc.
  • Be responsible for tracking and interpreting Japan regulatory requirement to relevant stakeholders, such as sales, CSRs, other PS counterparts, etc.
  • Identify and communicate to regional & global PS counterparts about the he critical regulatory/ customer side/ sustainability issues that will drive change. Provide practical advice and keep alignment with global team in addressing these changes.
  • Be able to make proper judgement under different registration scenarios and provide constructive suggestion.
  • Stay close with Japan sales team and take newly identified need into service scope upon necessity.
  • Prioritize Japan country specific issues and execute based on those priorities.
  • Follow EMN customer inquire handling process and support CIM team handling customer requests and hazcom issues as local expert.
  • Develop and maintain the relationships with key Japan industry associations, agencies and other regulatory influencers.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Polymer Science or Material Science
  • 5-10 years of working experience
  • Experience in Product Stewardship or other regulatory related work preferred
  • Experience in JHOSPA notification and MHLW PL reporting preferred
  • Good motivation and interests
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Excellent computer skill, especially in Excel and Word.
