Human Resources Intern/Coop will gain experience and participate in project work in one or more of the following areas in Human Resources including but not limited to:

•    Assist in various learning projects, e.g. onboarding, general competencies development; leadership development; etc. 
•    Talent Management/Talent Acquisition
•    Participate in HRIS design of new Timekeeping Implementation

 

Qualification Requirements
•    Current undergrad or graduate student working towards a degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or Business
•    Able to work in United States without sponsorship
•    Pass a background check to acquire a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
•    Availability to work 40 hours per week during the summer (fall/spring terms flexible)

Additional Experience/Skills
•    Practical experience inside or outside of school or work.
•    Desire to work in the field or Human Resources after graduation
•    Demonstratable leader experience (group projects and/or clubs plus engaged in class) and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
•    Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and interpersonal
•    Proven team player who takes the initiative and works with others to achieve team goals
•    High-level analytical capabilities
•    Ability to translate HR knowledge into valuable recommendations and solutions
•    Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks

•    Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch. 
•    Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
•    Must be able to work in chemical protective clothing and equipment in an outdoor environment.
•    Must be able to work in a potentially hazardous chemical environment.
•    Must be “fit for duty”
