Tech Service Engineer (Field)-Specialist

This role will work from a home office in the US.

Provide superior technical service and support to glass laminating customers of the Eastman Advanced Materials Interlayers business  
2.    Help maintain and grow business with existing customers in accordance with regional commercial plans 
3.    Work with the commercial and market development teams to meet architectural and automotive business segment objectives
4.    Support Territory Management Plan to maintain key account relationships through engagement and regular visits to customer facilities
5.    Effectively troubleshoot product and process issues at customer 
6.    Assemble, analyze and summarize internal and customer data, using proficiency in spreadsheet applications, data analysis, graphical visualization and statistical tools
7.    Identify opportunities for productivity and quality improvements in both customer and Eastman operations
8.    Develop and present performance recommendations for AMI in automotive and architectural laminating processes
9.    Coordinate and assist in product qualifications, including trials at customer sites
10.    Provide useful and accurate feedback to the AMI QA, Operations, and Technology organizations to enable product improvement and defect elimination
11.    Actively seek opportunities for growth through innovation by applying discovery methods to capture information and better understand market and industry trends
12.    Conduct external and internal training for laminate processing and products
13.    Maintain a network with equipment manufacturers
14.    Use of to submit call reports, drive opportunities, and effectively communicate customer engagement and feedback to internal stakeholders


    1.    Strong technical and application experience in the glass industry with lamination knowledge a plus
2.    Experience working directly with customers
3.    Creative problem solving skills
4.    The ability to effectively communicate ideas and proposals, verbally and in writing, to a wide audience at many different levels within an organization (internal and external)
5.    Ability to contribute effectively as an individual and within a team
6.    High energy with strong initiative and self motivation
7.    Ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision
8.    Excellent commitment to task
9.    Logical and systematic approach to problem solving and root cause analysis
10.    Knowledge of applied process statistical tools and lean manufacturing techniques is a plus
11.    Willingness and ability to travel (50+% of time)
12.    Ability to conduct “discovery” interviews with a large range of functions
13.    Provide written trip reports to internal stakeholders
14.    Successful history of working within a matrix organization within a globally complex operation

16.    Demonstrated ability to effectively maneuver through complex situations

Experience / Qualifications
1.    Industrial B-to-B, value added technical service
2.    3-5 years working in Manufacturing / Technology environments
3.    Emerging technology growth and experience
4.    Knowledge of automotive and architectural glass industries

5. Bachelor's Degree
