RESPONSOBILITIES:

•    Good Safety habits.
•    Know permit procedures (general, hot and entry).
•    Capable of repairing/rebuilding pumps and compressors, fans, gearboxes, and blowers.
•    Good knowledge of all pumps in the plant.
•    Understand all seal settings in different pump.
•    Understand pump alignments.
•    Understand bearing settings (tolerance, clearance).
•    Have an understanding of all compressors, valves, pistons, piston rods, crankshaft and bearing end clearances.
•    Thoroughly understand fin fans (bearings, pitch, motor load, actuator settings and variable speed motors and cog belts).
•    Understand gearboxes and blowers (gear and backlash setting).
•    Be able to operate light equipment (man lift, Drott, cherry picker and forklift).
•    Have boiler maker skills.
•    Understand exchangers (why and how).
•    Be able to pull all exchangers with or without exchanger pullers.
•    Understand column trays and down comer setting (why and how).
•    Have knowledge of R/V operations (why and how) and be able to use P&ID’s to check location and fill out shippers for repairs.
•    Fasteners (nuts, bolts, gaskets and hand and power tools).
•    Must be able to fill store's requisitions for parts in warehouse and sufficient knowledge of parts location.
•    Basic knowledge of welding and torch cutting equipment and procedures.
•    Be able to take and understand vibration readings.
•    Basic understanding of process operation (start-up, shutdown, flows and be able to set priorities).
•    Be able to read blueprints.
•    Be physically fit to perform assigned jobs which may include climbing
•    Must be complete all required training per the St. Gabriel Maintenance Department Training Schedule.
•    Be proactive safety leader, set/maintain high safety standards.
•    Participate actively in safety and quality subcommittees as assigned.
•    Make recommendations to supervisor in an ongoing basis to adjust warehouse inventory levels.
•    Requisition needed materials of assigned maintenance tasks and projects.
•    Take callouts and work turn-around to keep plant operating at present or full rates.
•    Keep abreast of new methodologies, work practices, software, technology, for application and use within the plant.
•    Fill out completions form on scheduled orders and give information to Scheduler so this person can maintain KPI’s for the maintenance group.
•    Assist in entering and completing MOC’s 
•    Enter notification as work is noticed to maintain a great functional plant. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

•    Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
•    Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
•    Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE.
•    Lift 50 pounds floor to waist
•    Push and pull 50 pounds horizontally
•    Carry 20 pounds while walking
•    Climb stairs and ladders
•    Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
•    Ability to serve on emergency response team/fire brigade


EDUCATION:  

  • High School diploma or GED required; Technical degree or certification highly recommended.


EXPERIENCE:  

  • 2-5 years experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment
