Responsibilities

This position is a Project Engineer position supporting capital projects within Eastman’s Advance Materials and Performance Films businesses.   The individual selected for this opportunity will provide project engineering support for assigned capital projects at the Indian Orchard, Massachusetts site.  The selected candidate will also provide project support to other manufacturing sites around the world, as required.  While supporting projects, the candidate will also gain experience in:


Construction Management –
-    Planning for construction
-    Selection of strategies
-    Bid package preparation 
Project Management Training 
-    Eastman Capital Processes
-    Presentation and effective communication with business
-    Project Scheduling
-    RFQ preparation
-    Project Execution Strategies
-    Forecasting, negotiating
-    Managing project team performance
-    Interface/Coordination with Construction Manager.

 

Location:  This position will be located at the Indian Orchard Site in Springfield, Massachusetts.  

 

Job Responsibilities:


•    Provide Engineering technical support during the design, construction and documentation phases of capital projects.
•    Provide Project Management Leadership for assigned small capital projects support the larger project.
•    Define scope and alternatives for capital projects and provide engineering support from feasibility, front end engineering, construction, and project start up
•    Design, specify, install and troubleshoot process modifications and equipment for assigned projects.
•    Lead cross functional teams comprised of Eastman and Outside Contracted engineers while being able to work individually.
•    Provide CMR (contractor management representative) support to assure oversight of job execution, when required
•    Investigate, recommend and implement new technology for continuous improvements during projects.

Qualifications


•    Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
•    Minimum of 5 years related Project Engineering, Plant Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience
•    Experience in Roll manufacturing process is helpful (examples: Winding, Web Handling, Sheet Extrusion, Coating)
•    Knowledge of Project Management processes
•    Demonstrated Leadership Skills in managing cross functional teams
•    Ability to manage multiple projects at once
•    Good communication, technical, and organizational skills 
•    High degree of initiative to drive projects from feasibility thru startup
•    Ability to contribute individually and in a team environment
•    Management of Change experience
•    Process Safety Management experience, a plus


Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
