Responsibilities

 

The HSE Manager at Eastman’s Indian Orchard site provides overarching personal safety, process safety, and environmental leadership for the site.  This role requires the ability to manage a team of HSE professionals, assume accountability for site HSE performance, and embrace and foster strong partnership with Indian Orchard Manufacturing leadership.  The role reports up through the Films Division HSE branch of the Global Health, Safety and Environmental organization.  

 

Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Direct leadership and coaching of site HSE team. Maintain a high performing Site HSE team through excellent personnel onboarding and development plans. 
  • Matrixed partnership with the Indian Orchard Leadership Team.  Provide “thought leadership” and strategic recommendations to Indian Orchard Site Leadership Team related to GHSE performance and opportunities
  • Support Site Leadership in any “right-to-operate” issues and participate in strategic community partnerships
  • Joint responsibility and accountability (with Manufacturing) for overall HSE performance at the Indian Orchard site, and responsibility for driving continual improvement in that performance
  • Leadership and participation in critical HSE programs including spending time in the field engaging with Site team members.
  • Management of the Indian Orchard GHSE Budget
  • Advocacy for HSE resources necessary to ensure adequate support for the Indian Orchard site

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an environmental, occupational health and safety, engineering or other related discipline required
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment required
  • Prior people leadership and coaching experience required
  • Experience effectively managing an HSE team preferred
  • Good interpersonal, communication and team skills
  • Strong customer focus, with demonstrated ability to solve complex issues and work in partnership with Manufacturing and other stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

The base salary range for this position is $112,000 to $154,000. ​
