Responsibilities

• Drive Eastman All-in-for-Safety culture and Zero Incident Mindset
• Collaborate with Operations/HSES departments to achieve safety, environmental and regulatory goals
• Plan, design, and direct civil engineering projects such as roads, railroads, pipelines, water and sewage systems, and other site infrastructure
• Maintain plant property plans to show site boundaries and all legal easements
• Maintain consolidated utility plans for underground water, sewer, communications, and electrical utilities
• Manage and enforce water containment protection (backflow devices) for city water mains as well as in plant protection for potable water within the facility 
• Support facilities department sewer inspection and maintenance program, utility maintenance and repair programs, fire services program, specialty coating applications, and surveying for stormwater/sewer improvements
• Provide construction management support for Engineering group for civil and structural capital projects
• Lead problem solving teams to identify, design and implement improvements
• Select and qualify contractors for maintenance work to meet safety, quality, cost, and deadline targets
• Maintain ongoing relationships with City of Springfield departments: Code of Enforcement, Assessor’s, Tax Collector & SWSC
• Monitor MA Department of Public Safety changes and updated regulations
• Program owner of overall property protection plan and FM Global Program Facilitator
• SME resource for lifting devices and fall protection
• Facilitate or provide structural evaluations for structural steel, floor loading, overhead beams, and anchor points

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with minimum of 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment is desired
• PE license is preferred
• Knowledgeable of maintenance work processes and preventative maintenance programs strongly preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to establish strong partnerships with manufacturing and other client groups
• Exceptional organizational skills
• SAP proficiency required
• Knowledge of the “Management of Change” process
• Knowledge of relevant HSES requirements
• Knowledge of Purchasing and Stores processes
