Position Purpose

Eastman Chemical Company is the world’s leading manufacturers and marketer of high performance films for automotive and architectural applications. The Performance Films business houses consumer brands such as LLumar, V-KOOL, iQUE, Huper Optik, SunTek and is seeking for a candidate to join the Global marketing team. The incumbent would have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, energetic environment with a passionate, vision to transform the window film industry through relevant branding and marketing communications.

This role calls for an understanding of B2C consumer marketing based on Distributor business model. Individuals need to demonstrate a good understanding of consumer-experience marketing balanced with customer relationship management, strong stakeholder-management, and as part of a team- understand how to organise and execute the right marketing idea effectively. Given the support nature of the role, the individual needs to be detailed, on the go and be a teamplayer who value adds to the team. The ideal candidate needs to possess very good communication skills and a drive to achieve goals as part of a desired keenness to learn and progress.

Role Description

Strategic Marketing / Market Development

  1. Assist in developing mid to longer term marketing strategies for each brand/country . Continually update the market landscape/ marketing insight to reevaluate/enhance the marketing strategies. 
  2. Work with 3rd party distributors to convince partners to adopt the required marketing strategy or strategic campaigns/activities that would reach consumer target audience. This involves tact and maturity as well as a deep understanding of distributor management in a B2C marketing environment. This includes working in a team to conceptualise impactful brand-awareness campaigns at a global level and presenting them thereafter.
  3. Support 3rd party distributors on promotion and marketing campaigns. This would require the individual to occasionally play the role of a marketing consultant to direct the 4Ps of traditional and online communications channels to interact with customers and fans as part of an overall customer-loyalty program and brand experience. This requires expertise in directing and supervising various agencies and related vendors. 
  4. Co-ordinate basic corporate communications, which includes the adaptation, production and dissemination of company press releases, product positioning statements, internal and external newsletters, collaterals, circulars and articles. 
  5. Co-ordinate basic public relations in terms of liaison with news media, customers and other stakeholders. This involves supporting journalists, media contacts and publication agencies for strategic outreach.
  6. Identify sustainability insights through broad external engagement and well-designed market research projects to uncover new opportunities and activate customers and markets
  7. Work collaboratively with the technology team to adapt technologies and capabilities necessary to activate new markets and uncover new sustainability value propositions
  8. Design commercial offers that both accelerate market adoption and optimize value creation and capture.

 

Brand Management

  1. Develop or adapt relevant marcom materials and brand toolkits. This requires the individual to have a good understanding of classic marketing frameworks with ability to manage creative development for the brand. 
  2. Support global brand planning process in the development of brand target setting and brand strategy review. This involves designing a roll-out plan, executing, implementing and tracking of marketing initiatives.
  3. Work collaboratively with internal teams or external agencies to execute concepts consistent with a determined communications messaging, standardised regional/global style guide and within desired timelines and budgets.
  4. Stewardship of brand image, values and communication. This includes regular A&P monitoring of the marketing spend and provision of relevant reports to senior management.

 

Program Development 

  1. Work with distributor-partners to drive consumer experience management and customer relationship management programs according to global brand strategy.
  2. Drive implementation of processes and procedures (Eg. Developing retail store sales operations procedure, partner-engagement operations procedure, design of new retail store) in line with brand promise and strategic consumer experience- enhancement and growth initiatives.
  3. Manage, communicate and implement the above procedures and systems in cooperation with sales / commercial teams across different regions / countries. 
  4. Manage projects in a timely and economical manner with little supervision and demonstrating creative problem solving.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of work experience with at least 2 years of regional brand or marketing experience in FMCG, Consumer Goods, Luxury or industry that is of a physical product nature. 
  • Experience managing 3rd party distributors & matured understanding of regional cultures.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Arts, Marketing or proven work experience that demonstrates marketing competencies and successful results.
  • Demonstrated superior project management capabilities and a great can-do attitude
  • Maturity to handle internal stakeholders; principally sales/ commercial account managers and design team
  • Candidate must have superior people-handling skills, great communication skills and “high EQ”. 

 

Other requirements
