Job Responsibilities

a.    Demonstrate superior performance of acetate filament and spun yarns in specific applications and markets for mills and brands connections.
b.    Support textile supply chain to develop new fabrics containing 100% acetate or blends of acetate with other fibers that meet brand requirements.
c.    Work closely with BD and sales to support business objectives. Provide technical assistance to all sales representatives in assigned regions.
d.    Use consultative skills to build effective customer relationships that the customer values.
e.    Work closely with technology/product development to ensure that application requirements and potential processing issues are being addressed early in the development phase.
f.    Lead application trials at targeted customers for critical stages during new product development.
g.    Support introduction of new yarn items at customers, and assist customers on new fabric style developments.
h.    Assist new customers in understanding the unique processing requirements of acetate yarn; and help troubleshoot customer manufacturing issues utilizing acetate yarn.
i.    Analyze and test competitive yarns and fabrics and guide necessary development work in order to match/improve key properties.
j.    Make both regular and quick-response customer visits to support job responsibilities. Provide useful and accurate feedback to our QA organization to aid in product improvement and defect elimination. 
k.    Assemble, analyze and summarize internal and customer data, using proficiency in spreadsheet tools, data analysis, graphical visualization and statistics.
l.    Provide written technical trip reports to internal stakeholders.
m.    Serve as a subject matter expert in product and product processing.
n.    Provide appropriate applications training for sales, manufacturing, QA personnel.
o.    Maintain/update technical materials.


Personal Qualifications

•    Education - A Bachelor or Masters-level technical degree is required. Textile is preferred.  

•    Experience/Job Knowledge/Expertise - 
o    Minimum 5 year experience in Textile development and applications
o    Strong experience in fabric design, especially woven items is a requirement.
o    Experience in spinning, weaving & knitting  and dyeing & finishing processes is a requirement.
o    Demonstrated proficiency in technical trouble shooting and problem solving, especially in the field of yarn spinning, fabric manufacturing, and textile dyeing and finishing processing
o    Work experience in technical support and customer interface. 
o    Aptitude and experience in data analysis and presentation using Microsoft Office software. 

•    Initiative – The candidate must be a self-starter who takes initiative in developing and maintaining technical expertise and enjoys a high-level of interaction with customers and internal stakeholders. The position will require quickly learning the knowledge and skills necessary to bring value to the customer, applying both theoretical and hands-on capabilities.  

•    Language Skills –   Written and spoken proficiency in Chinese languages and English is required. 

•    Communication skills – Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation & teaching skills are required. 

•    Teamwork – The candidate must have the interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders such as sales, QA, Technology and Manufacturing.
