Molding Lab Technician

Responsibilities

•    Regular molding request support to both internal and external customers 
o    Cooperate with TS/AD/Sales team to complete molding requirements per customer request 
o    Collecting results data
o    Developing preliminary technical reports by evaluation of test results 
•    Processing DoE studies support on new material/competitive material (under guidance from senior technologist)
o    Conduct processing DoEs for new material internal validation, optimize processing conditions before customer trial 
o    Record the mold condition for each new resin and summarize the key learning and report out for generating customer molding guideline 
o    Competitor material study and result summary based on AD request 
•    Innovating tooling and test design for meeting new applications (under guidance from senior technologist)
o    Work together with AD/TS to design lab new mold tool and build customer equivalent tooling for real application 
o    Developing test methods, determining processing parameter configuration and competing setup of equipment 
•    Support lab day-to-day management and operations. Work with vendors to ensure that raw materials, equipment and consumables are available for smooth laboratory operations. Maintain lab housekeeping in a customer ready state.
•    Work safely and promote a safe work environment. Attend safety meeting/activities, carry out safety inspections and comply with Safety Culture
 

Qualifications

•    Background in polymer related areas.  
•    Communication Skills – Must be able to communicate experimental results clearly to peers & supervision through email, verbal communication and/or concise report. Require to update research notebook clearly and promptly.
•    Teamwork – Must be able to work with people having different personalities and different job functions.
•    Initiative -  Must be self-motivated, looking for ways to improve laboratory work processes, capability and safety
•    Language Skills – Chinese, English (reading and writing, fluent speaking is a plus)
