Role Description

Eastman is working to catalyze the transformation from a linear to a circular economy.  With the launch of two commercial molecular recycling technologies, Eastman sees the opportunity to show what is possible and create real solutions to the world’s plastic waste problem.  In order to do this, we must shape market expectations, break through old paradigms, and drive change in the market.  As such, we are looking for marketers who have a passion for sustainability, are exceptional in their functional discipline, and can lead customers and markets to a more sustainable future.


The Market Development Manager is responsible for developing and leading the execution of projects that identify new opportunities for our sustainable solutions and, in the process, redefine how our customers think about sustainability and what they can achieve today. The Market Development Manager must be able to communicate the strategy, align and motivate cross-functional teams, and remove internal and external barriers to accelerate activation of Eastman’s circular technologies and solutions.  In order to accomplish this, the individual will convert insights into opportunities and exhibit bias for action that will maintain a sense of urgency across their team and drive behavior change across the value chain. 




  • Develop and lead the execution of market strategies and stage gate projects to launch Eastman’s sustainable technologies and solutions;
  • Identify sustainability insights through broad external engagement and well-designed market research projects to uncover new opportunities and activate customers and markets
  • Work collaboratively with the technology team to adapt technologies and capabilities necessary to activate new markets and uncover new sustainability value propositions
  • Design commercial offers that both accelerate market adoption and optimize value creation and capture.
  • Define and launch market activation plans that achieve the goals of the market strategies


Education and/or Experience 

⦁    Bachelor’s Degree in technical or marketing discipline is required. MBA degree preferred
⦁    5+ years prior experience in sales, product management, marketing or relevant technical roles
⦁    Must have had a customer facing role or other commercial experience prior to this role
