Reporting to:  Senior Corporate Communications Representative, Asia Pacific

Job location: Shanghai, China


II. Job Description


Eastman is looking for an experienced Corporate Communications professional to serve as a Corporate Communications Representative for Asia Pacific. This person will serve as a member of Eastman’s Corporate Communications staff and will be responsible for supporting and assisting with internal communications, media relations, digital communications, crisis communications, social media and content management. This requires building relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, including regional leadership, understanding their unmet needs, developing and managing the implementation of communication plans, and measuring and evaluating results.


III. Key Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in global corporate communication strategic plan development and cascade down to Asia Pacific
  • Support development and implementation of regional communication plan including but not limited to employee communications, digital communications, crisis communications, media relations and trade association relations
  • Manage the execution of internal communications tools including e-newsletter, town hall and employee-related projects and activities
  • Collaborate with cross functional and business teams to manage digital communications including but not limited to MyEastman, social media platforms like We-chat, LinkedIn and corporate websites
  • Support content management for Asia Pacific including company and regional information, documents and collateral, etc.
  • Support media relations and crisis communications


IV. Qualifications


  • Bachelors' degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field
  • 3+ year experience of corporate communications in a multi-national company; prior experience working in multinational chemical or manufacturing industry is a plus
  • Must have working knowledge and real-world experience in planning, managing and executing social media initiatives; experience in writing, editing and crafting content for the social media space; prior experience in handing social media platforms including but not limited to We-chat in B2B companies; video-shooting and editing skill is a plus
  • Must be proficient in English and Mandarin, both oral and writing skills; strong writing and communications skills
  • Must demonstrate excellent people skills; have proven ability to influence and negotiate and be a good team member
  • Must be able to work with confidential information
  • Must be able to plan and perform detail work independently and well under pressure
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
