Advanced Material - Interlayers, Automotive

For more than 80 years, glass fabricators and automotive engineers have counted on Saflex® PVB interlayers for high quality products, reliable service, and expert advice to help deliver world-class technology for laminated glass. Automotive engineers are also taking advantage of the variety of benefits these products offer, including heat, weight, and sound reduction as well as safety, security, UV protection, and head-up display (HUD) technology.
 

Role Profile (Remote in Shanghai, China)

The OEM Auto Business Development Manager is responsible for executing our business strategy at the downstream Auto OEM level, enabling customer success through identifying, developing, and securing new solutions from Eastman/Laminators in downstream applications. The BDM works with Segment Market Managers to transfer the unmet needs and potential solutions leading to current or future business. 

Responsibilities

  

  • Build relationships and image in the OEM organizations, and across the value chain, as a materials solution provider to their most challenging problems
  • Effectively engage potential customers to uncover their unmet needs and buying process
  • Work with laminators and Eastman's Segment Leaders to either find an immediate solution or work with New Product Development to solve the customer’s problem
  • Take the solution to the OEM/Tier 1 supplier and present information that enables the prospective customer to clearly understand the value proposition of potential solutions, and how these solutions can help the customer win in its market

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors, from an accredited college or university is required.  
  • Intermediate to advanced sales skills (5-10 years)
  • Significant auto industry experience – fat rolodex of contacts.
  • Strong technical/IP knowledge, market and customer strategy and planning experience
  • Experience with CRM and other sales systems and tools
