Technical Service Manager Animal Nutrition - LATAM

As a Technical Service Manager, you are primarily responsible for supporting and growing the Eastman poultry and swine segments within LATAM. Together with your colleagues in sales, marketing and R&D you work on developing new opportunities for Eastman products, and strengthening our image and presence as a leading supplier of organic acids in gut health and preservation & hygiene applications.

 

Responsibilities:

•           Understand the customer’s demands and challenges

•           Work closely with sales to support the business objectives in the region

•           Answer technical questions concerning Eastman products

•           Support the growth initiatives of Eastman’s Animal Nutrition business through participation in market activation together with sales and marketing

•           Provide an excellent service to customers/distributors through product training and technical support

•           Train sales colleagues in the region on the technical and economical benefits of Eastman’s product portfolio

•           Create technical materials (like papers, presentations, leaflets, brochures, trade-press articles) to support sales

•           Coordination of research and customer field trials with new and existing products

•           Participate in trade shows, conferences, exhibitions and other sector related events

•           Contribute acitvely in Segment Teams and associated growth efforts

•           Detect relevant business and/or technology trends and prepare a road map for growth

•           Provide insights into market development and customer needs to drive innovation (new products/new applications)

•           Serve as a technical lead in application development and and techical service projects

•           Liaise with our internal R&D department

•           Build up external relationships with universities and research institutes

 

Responsibilities

Under general direction, provide technical advice to the sales team to develop, sell, and successfully implement product or service solutions that will meet customer's needs. Provide technical advice during largest or most difficult negotiations, or with customers who are of significant strategic importance to the organization. Pre-sales activities include analyzing customer's technical needs and suggesting solutions. Post-sales activities include resolving implementation problems and conducting user training. Analyze customers' technical needs, develop proposals outlining how the organization's products and services can meet these needs and be integrated with the customer's existing systems and equipment. Develop and deliver sales presentations. Respond to the most complex technical questions regarding the organization's product, system or service. Estimate the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of delivering the organization's products and services to meet customer needs. Liaise with hardware, software, and systems design engineers to ensure that products and services are modified, configured, and installed according to customer needs. Develop and deliver training to educate customers on the features of their purchase. Respond to highly complex customer questions. Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical problems that arise during or after implementation. Coach and mentor less experienced engineers; check the quality of their work and help them resolve problems.

Qualifications

Technical Specialist. Recognized as an expert in own area within the organization. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise. Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirement.  Impact of work is throughout geographic region.
