Tax Analyst - Rotterdam based

The Role
The Senior Tax Analyst will play a meaningful role in executing all aspects of Eastman's international tax strategy as well as its compliance with local, regional, and global legal and regulatory requirements. The role encompasses tax strategy development, project planning and execution, monitoring tax legislative updates, cash tax management, compliance reporting, transfer pricing, controversy support, and SEC regulatory reporting. The analyst will also leverage modern tax technology and AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and insight across all areas of responsibility. This position is based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Responsibilities
- Support entity restructurings, dividend distributions, tax elections, and other special projects
- Assist with tax audits and communications with tax authorities.
- Support transfer pricing through profitability analyses, benchmarking, and pricing maintenance.
- Coordinate and review corporate income tax, withholding tax, and other local tax filings
- Manage external tax service provider relationships and filing timelines
- Review and assist with EMEA entities’ income tax provision calculations, following ASC740 reporting standards
- Assist the Accounting Group with income tax provision preparation under local statutory reporting requirements including review of deferred and current tax positions in the annual accounts
- Manage cash tax payment processes, forecasting, and related analytics.
- Review tax-related invoices, accruals, and cost center expenditures.
- Administer tax authority portals, including payments, assessments, filings, and correspondence.
- Use tax technology, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve compliance, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Support initiatives involving Power BI, Alteryx, SAP, Power Automate, and emerging tax technologies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Degree in Tax, Accounting, or related field.
- 3+ years of international tax experience in a multinational company or public accounting environment.
- Knowledge of EMEA corporate income tax, withholding tax, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with ASC 740 tax accounting and US GAAP.
Preferred:
- Experience with Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
- Familiarity with OECD Pillar Two, transfer pricing, and country-by-country reporting.
- Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, Python, or automation platforms.
