The role

The role combines Distribution Planning for a portfolio of products, Process Improvements and Optimizations as well as Back up for other planning roles within the region.

Planning

  • You understand the business, the global and regional product strategies for your respective product range, including in-depth knowledge of key customers and markets. You partner with Business, Commercial and Supply Chain teams to support execution of those strategies thru your planning role.
  • You develop and maintain the 6-month rolling supply plan for imported products, understand and execute the key analytics in line with the supply processes to achieve optimal demand & supply balance, actively support the Supply Manager in developing the 24-month supply plan. 
  • You participate in the IBP routines (Tactical Business Reviews, Bulk Vessels Planning meetings), identify and communicate variances and exceptions from the plan, actively collaborate on optimum solutions, and communicate key actions and choices to all stakeholders. 
  • Evaluate new business / demand opportunities and provide assessment of supply capabilities.
  • Understand and execute the key analytics to model "what-if" scenarios and propose optimized solutions based on variable supply/demand conditions.
  • Identify constraints and propose alternatives where demand plans cannot be met.
  • Determine if order commitment and/or sales allocation plans are warranted and propose plan modifications in alignment with the business.
  • Integrate alternative methods of supply (AMS) and collaborate with cross-functional teams on optimum network design.
  • Maintain and optimize Master Data in planning systems.

 

Inventory

  • You are responsible for warehouse inventory planning of the external warehouses, manage inventory levels and replenishment orders in line with agreed inventory targets, you manage post-manufacturing activities (Value Added Services). 
  • You evaluate and define the inventory strategy by continuously reviewing safety stock and target inventories, in line with the changing business environment.
  • You identify and support inventory optimization opportunities. 
  • You manage aged & blocked inventories, and you work with manufacturing and product management on preventive measures and solutions to minimize impact to the business. 
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for monthly reconciliations of inventory levels stored at 3rd party warehouses in line with Sarbanes Oxley requirements, you lead assigned annual physical stock counts.
     

Your responsibilities for the Process Improvement and Optimizations:

  • You identify improvement opportunities in processes, tools, and knowledge, you implement best practices, ensuring adoption and adherence by other planners and stakeholders.
  • You contribute to elevation of planning methodologies in line with changing business environment.
  • You seek optimization opportunities across the value chain in collaboration with Supply Chain Manager and Logistics Business Manager.
  • You support, manage, coordinate and/or facilitate solutions around customer inquiries and business processes, such as product management, winning or protecting the business, complaint handling and returned material.
  • You contribute to common back up system via extended cover within the planning team and you contribute to maintaining up-to-date documentation of planning roles, processes and product flows.
     

Qualifications

Candidate profile

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Supply Chain Management degree is preferred.
  • Five plus years’ experience in planning, forecasting, supply chain, manufacturing, and/or business.
  • Good command of SAP and advanced planning software, preferably OMP. 
  • Experience with Power BI tools and data modeling.
  • Knowledge and experience in S&OP or IBP business processes.
  • APICS, CPIM, or CSCP preferred.
