The Role
The Supply Chain Manager, to be based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, is aligned with the business and is responsible for Supply planning, Integrated Tactical Planning and/or Distribution Planning for regional and global manufacturing locations. This position provides leadership, guidance and coaching to integrated planners. The Supply chain manager reports to the Global Supply Chain Manager. The key responsibilities and main tasks are to develop and optimize supply chain strategies to ensure customer satisfaction and deliver desired business outcomes in cash, cost and service. In addition, they have responsibility for driving an optimal supply plan in OMP for the 24 months horizon. The goal is to publish an aggregated constrained supply plan and 24m inventory and capacity utilization forecast on a monthly basis. He/She can build a high-performance workplace and works in close coordination with other Eastman functional and business groups.
Responsibilities
- Develops supply chain strategies that are aligned with business unit product line strategies
- Leads the supply chain team members (vertically) and the cross-functional teams (horizontally) to execute against strategy and deliver desired business outcomes in cash, cost and service
- Selects, trains and mentors other supply chain members. Build, lead and coaches high-performing teams
- Leads weekly TBR meetings and serves as the link for alignment between integrated tactical plan and supply plan
- Manages the supply chain portion of large projects and resolution of complex supply chain issues to improve financial outcomes
- Provides input to (regional) 3rd party service provider contracts in close cooperation with Logistics and Procurement and ensures cost optimization and satisfactory standards of service
- Actively participates in WWCAR, Segment Teams and Product Leadership Teams
- Represents supply chain in new product introduction and commercialization process
- Performance management: designs, generates, maintains and monitors monthly KPI’s
- Ensures full compliance with Corporate Standard Operating Procedures and SOX requirements
- Creates and maintains 24-month supply plan in OMP by using optimization solvers to meet business objectives. Publishes a 24m forecast for inventory and capacity utilization.
- Proactively reaches out to key stakeholders for business /supply scenarios input and conducts what-if analysis in OMP. Shares scenario recommendations in supply review meeting and drives decision making at the right time
- Understands E2E interactions within planning tool, upstream/downstream connectivity and other functions such as demand planning, tactical planning, logistics, product management, etc.
- Provides functional guidance to integrated planning by publishing the SOP reference plan, tracking progress against plan and communicating the long-term planning priorities to optimize short term production plan
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, Masters degree is preferred
- 10 years of experience in Supply Chain operations within a manufacturing / production environment
- End-to-end Supply Chain knowledge and experience
- Working experience with planning systems (OMP most preferred, SAP)
- Planning and supply planning optimization experience
- APICS certification or willingness to achieve certification within 2 years of selection.
- Preferably experience with compounding and/or extrusion assets
- Preferably Six Sigma trained and excellent knowledge of advanced Supply Chain tools
- Data acumen: understanding of supply planning related data elements, ability to analyze metrics
