This is the role

As the Distribution Resource Planner, supporting our Specialty Plastics business in EMEA, you are the interface between Sales, Customer Service, Warehousing and Global Planning. Your main target is to guarantee an uninterrupted supply process by balancing supply, inventory and demand. Furthermore, you are an active partner on all supply related questions from business partners (BO Management, Demand Manager, Product Quality, Sales, Logistics, Customers Services, Manufacturing and Supply Planner). You work closely with the global supply chain team and report to the Supply Chain Manager.

The processes that you will be involved in include;

  • Planning: You develop and maintain the 6-month rolling supply plan for imported products, understand and execute the key analytics in line with the supply processes to achieve optimal demand & supply balance, actively support the Supply Manager in developing the 24-month supply plan and participates in the S&OP process. You lead S&OE meetings and communicate summary to stakeholders. 
  • Inventory: you are responsible for warehouse inventory planning of the external warehouses, manage inventory levels and replenishment orders in line with agreed inventory targets, you manage aged & blocked inventories, and work with manufacturing and product management to minimize impact to the business. Furthermore, you are responsible for monthly reconciliations of inventory levels stored at 3rd party warehouses and consignment stocks while initiating and leading assigned annual physical stock counts.
  • Projects & Coordination: you support, handle, coordinate and/or facilitate problem solving around customer inquiries and business processes, such as: product management, complaint handling and returned material. You understand business and product strategies for the product range covered. Timely review and approval of complaint resolutions. You initiate improvement opportunities (processes, tools and knowledge) and support implementation of these pro-actively, including optimization of shipment modes, loads and packaging based on costs and inventory. 
  • Reporting: You assume responsibility for effective and timely Analysis and Reporting, analyze demand data and measure forecast accuracy, evaluate and maintain Safety Stock and Target Inventory numbers for the region and ensures full compliance with Corporate Standard Operating Procedures and all Sarbanes Oxley required processes.

As an experienced Distribution Resource Planner, you can assimilate and comprehend information to determine the "big picture".  You embrace complexity, have strong communication skills, and can focus on the changing external environment.  You are a passionate Supply Chain professional and constantly look for ways to improve things around you. 

This is what you bring

This role requires the ability to think strategically and execute methodically. Furthermore, you bring demonstrated experience in the field of Planning & Inventory, preferably in the process industry, strong analytical skills in combination with advanced Excel, SAP and Advanced Planning Software (preferably OMP). Finally, you hold a Bachelor or Master degree from an accredited university in Logistics, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering or related business fields. APICS CPIM or comparable certification is a strong pre.
