EMEA Product Steward Representative 




Role Description
The Product Steward Representative is a key link between the business and technology functions, and the larger global Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) organization. Specifically, the role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the Product Management teams and associated Technology teams for a given Eastman Business.  This role develops deep understanding of the specific product lines, and the necessary regulatory clearances and third-party certifications required to enable continued market access for existing products and new product launches based on a defined global business strategy.  



  • Relationship Management:  Build close relationships with business and technology personnel, includes clear lines of communication with Product Managers and Technology Manager for existing product lines in order to:
    • Drive early and often engagement during the product development phase of projects to avoid regrettable raw material decisions that may hinder getting new products to market
    • Ensure continued alignment on needs and priorities
  • Project leadership:  For assigned Business(es) develop global and/or regional product regulatory clearance and/or third-party certification strategies and implementation plans by working closely with Product Management, PSRA regulatory experts and regional PSRA personnel, as appropriate.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Developing clearly articulated and documented strategy based on business objective
    • Creation of timelines, resources needs and estimated costs
    • Provide routine communication updates for each project
  • Regulatory understanding:  Work closely with PSRA regulatory and regional experts to understand regulations impacting assigned product lines in order to:
    • Enable continued compliance as classification of product and/or additives change
    • Ensure efficient filing of clearance petitions
    • Help develop and implement advocacy strategies for emerging regulations or product defense, as necessary.
  • Customer Inquiries and Communication:  Facilitate external communication of regulatory topics through:
    • Creation and distribution of responses to customer inquiries related to the safety-in-use of Eastman products
    • Develop clear customer communication strategies with the assigned business when regulatory changes impact existing products



  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, polymer science, or related technical degree required
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in PSRA and/or Technology preferred
  • Project management or project leader experience helpful
