Supplier Quality Manager

Responsibilities

  • Support supplier qualification & new product introduction quality tracking — assess, audit and qualify suppliers; drive alignment on product specification and COAs to supplier readiness for mass production.
  • Contracting & quality agreements: Work with Sourcing/AMS/Legal to define quality agreements, specifications, sampling plans, material & packaging requirements, labeling and traceability obligations, and ensure supplier acknowledgment of requirements and maintain formal records
  • Manage incoming inspection & release — define risk based incoming plans, perform/approve lot release, link COAs and traceability to inventory.
  • Align and approve on quality decisions with vendors through agreed testing, workmanship sample reviews, and joint evidence review to resolve quality disputes that may arise from customer requirements or feedback
  • Lead nonconformance & CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action)— coordinate on RTV (return to vendor), issue SCAR( Supplier Corrective Action Request) , contain defects (stop ship/quarantine), run root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of 8D or CAPA.
  • Control change & traceability — evaluate and approve supplier changes (including changes in engineering, product, raw material etc.), manage requalification when needed, and maintain end to end lot/serial traceability and documentation.
  • Drive supplier process improvement and performance monitoring, including statistical process monitoring, development plans to reduce defects and waste, and organizing regular quality review meetings with vendors to review performance (using Scorecard ), issues, and improvement actions.
  • Own documentation and communication for supplier quality: maintain and version quality procedures and records, prepare and share quality reports and metrics with stakeholders, and support audits and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in, Chemistry, Polymer, Plastics, Engineering ,Quality Management or related field. Master’s preferred for senior roles.

- Experience: 5+ years in supplier/vendor quality management in China; experience in audits, CAPA, incoming inspection and product release.

- Technical and regulatory knowledge: Quality management systems (ISO 9001), supplier audit methodologies; familiarity with industry standards where applicable; packaging, labeling, traceability and shelf‑life handling.

- Skills: Root cause analysis, supplier management, negotiation, fluent Mandarin and English, interpersonal influencing, MS Office and QMS/ERP experience, willingness to travel.

- Certifications (desirable): CQE, Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, IATF16949  or other relevant quality certifications.

Travel Requirements

Moderate travel within China (~30% depending on supplier locations and audit schedules); occasional international travel as needed.
