Senior TS & AD Rep
Responsibilities
• Cooperate with Sales partners to manage designated territory and opportunity funnel, implement business strategy to protect/grow business.
• Proactively engage with value chain customers (e.g. converter, OEMs, brands etc.) to build strong relationships and generate technical solutions to protect existing business and drive for new business closures in diverse applications made by injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, etc.
• Discover types of insights, including application/product unmet needs, market trend, competitive intelligence, etc., and then translate these insights into new product/application development opportunities through “Idea to Concept (I2C)” process or business protection strategy.
• Collaborate closely with segment team (Sales, Marketing, R&D, Product Management, and Manufacturing) to execute market activation plans; Lead launch-phase projects and technical initiatives to enable market activation and campaigns, including validations and qualifications through field trials.
• Assist customers in resolving issues through failure analysis, processing troubleshooting around the use of our materials in their applications, and co-develop secondary processing solutions (e.g., coating, adhesive, welding, overmolding, etc.) with external partnership.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and tools — including test methods, failure mode playbooks, technical reports, publications, and application guides — to institutionalize knowledge and accelerate response times.
• Represent Eastman externally at customer meetings and visits, technical audits, and industry forums and conferences; conduct customer/distributor training, technical seminars to articulate value propositions technically by educating the industry on polymer science and deepening relationships with key accounts; support commercial negotiations with technical evidence
Qualifications
• Ph.D. degree with 10+ years or Master’s degree with 15+ years of experience in the industry. Degree in materials science or engineering, polymer science or engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, or a related field is required.
• Expertise: Strong technical knowhow and business acumen in polymer/plastic relevant industries, extensive molding or extrusion expertise, downstream connections and application development experience are highly preferred;
• Understanding of structure-property and processing relationships of polymers, and familiarity with design of experiment (DOE), problem-solving methodologies are preferred.
• Team player, fluent English and Mandarin, excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and internal stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
