Role Profile

In this fast-moving, analytical and critical role, the Pricing Analyst will be part of the Product & Pricing Management team responsible for determining the optimal pricing for various specialty products based on a variety of factors. This role will use quantitative analytical skills and business acumen to analyze, recommend, and execute pricing actions that meet customer and business needs. The Pricing Analyst's work is intimately aligned with product and market strategies to maximize value creation and value capture. This role requires close collaboration with Pricing and Product Managers, as well as cross-functional coordination and communication with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and other functions such as Logistics and AMS.  This is a matrixed role, supporting both Care Solutions and Specialty Plastics.

 

Location: China, preferably Shanghai office

Responsibilities

  • Execute pricing strategy in collaboration with the Pricing and/or Product Manager and Sales team
  • Analyze market trends and provide insight into the competitive landscape
  • Utilize insights from previous sales trends and opportunity win/loss data to inform future actions
  • Partner with Product and/or Pricing Manager to provide timely price quotes for new business
  • Provide decision support for mass price changes and execute accordingly, including effective communication to all stakeholders
  • Update formula price calculations and revise internal price guidance as needed based on evolution of raw material indices and Eastman’s actual costs
  • Monitor and respond to support requests from Customer Service and Sales teams, Pricing/Product Managers, and other business partners for all pricing related issues in various pricing systems
  • Proficient in the use of Vendavo, SAP, SalesForce, and Microsoft Excel for pricing applications
  • Manage system for all pricing-related activities, ensuring pricing integrity and executing strategic pricing practices as applicable (entry/maintenance of price records, price floors and approval process, price discrepancies, Segmented Price Change, Price Bands, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; business-related degree preferred
  • 2+ years' prior work experience in an analytical or customer-facing role; preferably in sales, marketing, product management, pricing and/or supply chain
  • Proven capability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication; strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Initiative and the ability to think and operate independently
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills for problem solving and decision analysis
  • Excellent Excel skills, and proficient use of standard software packages (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint); SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Capacity and desire for continual learning in pricing and system tools
  • Desire to collaborate and interface with many people in a global team setting, working across international time zones with multicultural approach
  • Ability to function in a matrixed organization
