The Position 

We are looking for a Graduate Engineer on a permanent basis to contribute to the migration of a Distributed Control System at the Newport Site and provide production and project support to the sites Industrial Automation and Control systems.   

 

The Role 

This includes the Development of Human-Centred Design Mimics, Process Automation code and Batch Sequencing.  You will be responsible for testing your own software as well as code written by others.  You will be working alongside plant operators on a simulated system providing training and fault-finding.   

  • Development of Human Centred Design (HCD) Mimics, 

  • Develop and Test Control System Code, 

  • Commission Control System Hardware and Software, 

  • Collaborate with project and production staff. 

  • Defining and complying with all aspects of IACS Cyber Security design and monitoring

  • Managing IACS and connected systems

 

Requirements 

The right candidate shall be thorough in their work and who values safety above all else.  There is little room for error given the safety and production requirements of the site. 

 

Skills 

  • Working knowledge of  IEC61131-3 Industrial Automation Languages a benifit

  • Can read and interpret technical drawings, 

  • Excellent Computer Skills, 

  • Good communication and Team work skills essential

  • Excellent fault finding and diagnositc skills requried.
