Role Description


Eastman is working to catalyze the transformation from a linear to a circular economy.  With the launch of two commercial molecular recycling technologies, Eastman sees the opportunity to show what is possible and create real solutions to the world’s plastic waste problem.  In order to do this, we must shape market expectations, break through old paradigms, and drive change in the market. 


Product Managers are responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for a group of products from a common technology platform or asset. Product Managers assemble various market, capital, production, inventory, and technology plans into a product strategies that maximize the profitability of an asset while lowering its carbon footprint and transitioning to a more circular feedstock.


Responsibilities include


  • Ensuring products deliver the offer elements outlined in the market plan, such as quality specifications, regulatory requirements, availability and service level.
  • Evolving product mix to maximize profit through a combination of increasing variable margin and lowering cost.  This includes the multi-generation product plan, product lifecycle, rationalizations and product allocations when needed.
  • Long term capacity planning of the asset to ensure it is capable of the required product mix and customers have adequate supply of the right product with the appropriate amount and timing of capital.
  • Champion/support continuous improvement and capital projects needed to increase capacity or yields, lower variable and fixed costs.
  • Competitive intelligence monitoring of similar competitive products.

The Product Manager is a key member of the cross functional Segment Team and will help orchestrate the building of offer elements and will monitor performance and adjust accordingly based on analytics, customer-centric recommendations, and product/asset expertise. 




  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical or marketing discipline required
  • 5+ years experience in sales, technical service, marketing, product management, and supply chain
  • Experience with compounded polymers is attractive
