Responsibilities

Aviation Industry Responsibilities
- Awareness of design trends that impact Eastman Turbine Oil (ETO) product line (current / future) 
- Commercial aviation demographics and organization/maintenance of fleet data 
- Global Standard Body expertise and participation – SAE E34 leadership, DOD/MOD, ASTM, ISO 
- Detailed understanding of OEM internal engineering and FAA/EASA airworthiness processes 
- Cabin Air Quality expertise as related to aviation fluids – involvement in committees such as ASHRAE, EASA, SAE E31, AC-9 

 

Technical Expertise 
- Experiment design, interpretation, and communication associated with field-service investigations 
- Expertise in the evaluation and analysis of turbo oils and related materials 
- Expertise in aircraft engine, APU, and generator architecture – particularly the lubrication systems 
- Materials Science expertise for turbine equipment and aircraft systems, along with associated boundary conditions – SAE AMS CE, AE-9, AMS M 
- Fluent in specification-related fields and test methods – e.g. tribology, deposition, decomposition, and oxidation related to turbine lubricants 
- Intellectual property generation, control, and management 

 

Communication Skills 
- Provide a data driven narrative to support Sales and Marketing development 
- Represent Eastman interests and products at customers, OEMs, air framers and industry trade groups

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who can make connections between Technology, Manufacturing, and customer needs. 
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree with a proven track record of success in the industry.  
- Proven global perspective on aviation lubricants and the commercial aviation industry 
- Minimum 10+ years in relevant field of aviation and engine technology 
- Demonstrated commercial acumen 
- A creative team player with initiative, good analytical and trouble-shooting skills, able to work under minimum supervision. 
- Ability to influence without authority on cross-functional and cross-regional teams. 
- Experience working in multi-functional project teams and customer facing situations 
- Culturally aware and comfortable with international travel. 
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. 
- Approximately 25% travel including some international travel  

 

The base salary range for this position is $136,000 to $187,000. ​
