This role can sit at a home office in North America, Mexico or Brazil
As part of the strategy to further grow as a specialty chemicals company, Eastman has created a Personal Care business unit and has the strategic intent to expand the business and the product portfolio significantly. For this purpose, a newly formed team is looking to translate existing products into new applications and create new ingredients for the next-generation hair and skin products, starting from a wide range of Eastman chemistries. We are looking for an account manager in NA to work closely with our marketing and ADTS group to identify and close new personal care opportunities in North America as well as identifying unmet needs.  

This is the Role
In this role, you will protect current and develop new business in Brazil, Mexico, and North America for Eastman’s Additives and Functional Products Division. Focused on the Personal Care market you will be responsible for maintaining and growing our personal care ingredients business at current accounts.  Additionally, you will be charged with developing and executing a distribution strategy and identifying and developing strong relationships with contract manufacturers and small personal care brand owners. You will actively use our CRM (Salesforce.com) platform and work closely with marketing and technology to deeply understand customer needs and align those with Eastman technology.

In pursuit of the targets for growth, you will work with current customers and identify prospects aligned with the segmentation in place for Personal Care. You will prepare a Territory  Management Plan to prioritize face-to-face meetings (virtual in the current Covid environment) with key contacts from which sustainable relationships and business opportunities are developed and maintained. You will identify and interact with our direct customers and at other key points of the value chain. From these interactions, you will discover unmet needs and work with a cross-functional Eastman team to develop solutions to delight the customer. Once Covid-related travel restrictions have been lifted, you will be traveling significantly (>50%) to meet and engage with existing and potential customers at all levels. Travel in North America and Latin America (mainly US, Brazil, and Mexico) and occasional to Europe is expected.
Reporting to the Americas Sales Manager, you will fulfil a key role in the commercial growth of the Personal Care Market within the Care Chemicals. This position will be home office based ideally close to a major international airport.

Candidates with insights into the Personal Care market and a strong desire to shape and execute a commercial strategy will be strongly considered.

This is what you bring
BSc or MSc in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of sales and marketing or technical experience selling to Personal Care formulators, brand owners and/or key multinationals
Fluency in English and Portuguese, Spanish an advantage
Proven track record in developing business

This is what you bring

BSc or MSc in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of sales and marketing or technical experience selling to Personal Care formulators, brand owners and/or key multinationals
Fluency in English and Portuguese, Spanish an advantage
Proven track record in developing business
Self-starting entrepreneur, can-do mentality, eager to build what is not yet there
Team player adding value to local team bonds while also mastering the dynamics of working in international teams
Ability to influence and inspire on cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
