Job Title: Technology Leader- India
Location: India

Overview: Eastman is seeking a Technology Leader to help drive growth and innovation across Eastman’s portfolio of technology platforms and businesses in India. The role will focus on building technology, innovation capabilities, and lab infrastructure to support current and evolving global and regional innovation needs. This position will work closely with the global technology organization and regional business teams to identify and establish capabilities and opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in technology, innovation, and cross-functional leadership, along with extensive experience in building and evolving technical capabilities for large, complex multinational companies. The candidate should have experience in building capabilities directed toward formulation, testing, analytical, and scale-up and prototyping support for innovation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, lead, and manage a core technology team in India to:
Establish innovation capability and infrastructure to enhance speed, agility, cost of innovation impacting at a regional and global level
Support Eastman participation in newly established markets in India through technology platforms
Establish attractive scale-up and partnership opportunities to advance innovation programs
Assess technology competencies and infrastructural needs and fill gaps to achieve vision and expectations and partner to develop a multi-horizon infrastructure plan to support Eastman growth in India
Collaborate across functions, including technology, marketing, and commercial teams, to identify opportunities and capabilities needed to support growth initiatives.
Foster a culture of innovation within the team and across the organization.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates on progress and outcomes.
Help to build and nurture external partnerships with industry leaders, startups, and other organizations to accelerate growth in India.
Identify strategic alliances to enhance innovation and market reach.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Preferred MS or PhD degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related). Technical degree with MBA degree highly desirable.
15+ years of experience in technology development and innovation related roles in Specialty Chemicals, Materials, or related Industries.
5+ years of experience leading technology teams and organizations as part of a global and multinational structure
Proven track record of driving growth initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Strong business and financial acumen
