The Role
Location: Delhi/ Mumbai, India
As Technical Service Representative AMI for Eastman Chemical based in India, you will be the technical support specialist for our direct and indirect customers in India and subsequent expansion into SEA. You have a solid knowledge base in technical service and applications support for automotive and architectural glazing or thermoplastics processing. You provide onsite lamination support, including troubleshooting, product qualification, produciton line starting up and line audit, process and product training to our customers to ensure Eastman as preferred partner. In addition, you will use your technical expertise to support our market development teams and provide valued technical advice and solutions to downstream customers. As part of customer interfacing function, proactive development and maintenance of key customer relationships is essential part of the role. You continuously seek to identify customer and industry needs and trends which could lead to new product applications or developments. Furthermore, you are expected to operate without close day-to-day supervision as an individual contributor, the ability to engage with other functions and work in a team is crucial.
Responsibilities
- You can translate the specific customer demands to an actual Eastman solution and you’re able to assist our clients in the implementation. Being able to support launches of new products into the marketplace, you can not only influence Eastman’s growth but also contribute to technical innovation in general.

This is a very challenging role in a dynamic international environment.
Please note that in this role you will be travelling for around 50%+ of your time.
Education, Experience and Behavioral Requirements
- Work in a responsible and safe manner
- Contribute effectively as an individual and within a team towards organisation’s goals
- A degree in Engineering or related field
- Problem solver mentality taking a structured pragmatic approach towards root cause analysis; knowledge of problem analysis and 6 Sigma methodologies is a strong plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proactive in developing customer relationships by making efforts to listen and to understand the customer needs (both internal and external), anticipating and providing solutions in a timely fashion.
- Good communication skills, and experience in customer interfacing technical roles is a definite plus
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member with Sales, Marketing, Technology, Manufacturing and other internal and external partners
- Persuasive and demonstrated ability to champion ideas within a large organization and to lead project teams and improvement initiatives
- Able to make presentations to customers, in public seminars or organised training for either internal or external customers in a professional manner. Write concise and timely customer call reports with the ability to identify important information, insights or critical issues and to highlight this in a timely manner.
- Results oriented and creative problem-solving ability.
- High adaptability, agility and proven capability to work effectively in a busy, rapidly changing multilingual, multi-cultural environment
- Priorities travel and project responsibilities with business strategy, workload and budget.
- Local language and fluency in English is required.
