The Indirect Team Lead is primarily responsible for development and support of the Indirect Procurement Representative Team.  You will be expected to deliver on the daily activities of supporting team on SAP and process questions; handling escalations; and managing day to day issues. This position reports to the Procurement Team Manager for the MSC Buyer Team, and will directly interact with Sourcing Managers, other internal stakeholders and external vendors. The strongest candidates will have exceptional attention to detail, top-notch problem-solving skills, be comfortable with conflict, and able to work well and productively motivate a team.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seek to become the expert and source of advice in area of assignment.
  • Support Indirect Reps who are responsible for the Procurement Procure-to-Pay
  • Manage the Indirect team's daily performance and responsiveness to stakeholders
  • Advanced leadership skills to effectively guide and motivate their team
  • Conduct 1:1 meeting with Indirect team members to understand workloads and ensure metrics are achieved  
  • Aid Indirect reps to identify and implement cost savings and avoidance opportunities without impacting service levels
  • Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders and customers across various region
  • Present Indirect Metrics to Team Manager and discuss improvement opportunities  
  • Responsible for daily Indirect team performance and handle escalations from Manufacturing; IMS or the Business
  • Identify and implement cost savings and avoidance opportunities without impacting service levels
  • Work to minimize the total cost of transactions.
  • Assist with contract development and entries into contract management system
  • Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelors degree in supply chain preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of procurement/team lead experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to forge and collaborate with internal customer/external supplier relationships.
  • Understanding of contracts and commercial terms
  • Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing and basic understanding of supply chain management
  • Expertise in SAP and/or SAP-Ariba data processing systems preferred
  • Ability to comply with existing/quickly adapt to new processes within the organization; Adaptive to change, uncertain circumstances, embraces challenges
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in team environment and demonstrate leadership
  • Negotiation skills
  • Comfortable with conflict
