Job responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

 

  • Coordinates regional Complaint Handling system to improve customer satisfaction, reduce the cost of poor quality, and continual quality improvements.
  • Ensuring that film and components that are manufactured in Martinsville comply with quality standards and specifications for Llumar, SunTek and Flexvue brands via Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Provide necessary support during third party audits such as ISO certifications to monitor QMS compliance and adoption.
  • Participate in continuous improvement work teams and quality improvement initiatives. Identify trends in quality performance and champion appropriate responses. Monitor and assess specifications for raw materials, internal production, and fitness-for-use properties. Responsible for enforcing QMS Policies and Procedures.
  • Monitor and summarize quality investigation reports to cross-functional teams for updates and alignment. Review on a regular cadence the Quality metrics to assess QMS effectiveness.
  • Participate on teams for the development of new products to establish and approve future specifications. Items would include coordinating qualification experiments, setting material specifications, and confirming test methods.
  • Work with Commercial, Technical Service, and Quality Technical Liaisons to investigate root cause analysis investigations, customer complaints, and other quality related issues for resolution.  This includes implementing proper corrective and preventive actions and notifying the customers.
  • Support quality related Management of Change (MOC) submissions and provide input to ensure quality excellence.
  • Preparing training material and quality guidelines to ensure quality and operational excellence for new employees at manufacturing sites.
  • Participate on Global quality improvement programs and initiatives.
  • Accepting or rejecting film and/or components produced and participating in implementation of quality control programs.
  • Overseeing the film production process, investigating and eliminating erroneous methods or tools being used by workers, minutely observing the units produced for visible defects, performing various tests so as to check for durability of the product and other desirable characteristics.

 

Required Skills/Expertise

 

  • Minimum B.S. in a technical field, preferably in engineering
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably film manufacturing for 3+ years

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to task and ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multiple assignments in a high activity environment
  • Willingness and ability to work in a hands-on environment
  • Initiative, drive, pro-active and attention to detail with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team setting
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated computer experience with standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Quality Systems, Six Sigma, structured problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, and statistical tools is required
  • Strong implementation and follow-through skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
