Transportation Planner
Responsibilities
- Documentation Management: Prepare, process, and distribute shipment documentation for all inbound and outbound services daily.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and other relevant requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate within a team environment, communicating effectively with contractors, tenants, operating areas, and core team members.
- Responsibilities may vary based on assignment location (rail or trucks).
- Trucks: Create and process paperwork for all inbound and outbound deliveries.
- Coordinate with Logistics to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ensure accurate weight entry for multiple departments, coordinate plant moves, and ensure all deliveries comply with DOT regulations.
- Rail: Assign railcars to meet both internal and external customer needs, optimizing the Texas Operations (TXO)-based railcar fleet utilization.
- Prepare daily switch lists for in-plant railcar movements and outbound shipments.
- Work Schedule: Work rotating eight- and ten-hour shifts covering seven days a week, with the possibility of occasional overtime.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn
- Excellent communication skills
- Initiative and effective use of time and resources
- Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Patient, pleasant, and service-oriented
- Team player willing to assist others during downtime
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Willingness to work rotating eight- and ten-hour schedules, including weekends and occasional overtime
- Respect for confidentiality of personal and sensitive information
- Punctuality, professionalism, and a safety mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
