Responsibilities

 

The TXO Methanolysis Tech Staff Engineer will eventually serve in traditional Tech Staff role in the new organization once the facility is on line. In the meantime, this individual will provide assistance in various areas of responsibility associated with the project to ensure project success. These duties could range from participation in division rep activities to participation in operational readiness activities, and anything in between. Expectations are that this individual will develop expertise in more than one of the three process areas associated with TXO Methanolysis (Mixed Plastics Processing, Methanolysis, Polymers. This person will work closely with members of management, division reps, Engineering personnel, and others and will correspondingly be exposed to a wide range of people and processes.


During the estimating and detailed design stages of the project, some level of travel to the Fluor Engineering office in Houston might be required, but this is expected to be relatively low for this position (much lower than for division reps). As the project enters the construction phase, job duties will be essentially all based in Longview. Post-project job duties will require minimal, if any, travel.


Major Responsibilities include the following: 


•    Gain a thorough understanding of the processes.
•    Work with division reps and other individuals, as requested, to help ensure the project remains on schedule.
•    Participate on operational readiness activities.
•    Participate in design decisions.
•    Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are addressed. 
•    Assist with preparation of environmental and operations permits. 
•    Work with the operating department to ensure the Safe Work Process is followed including LOTO required to actually construct and commission the project.
•    Assist in preparation and delivery of training for safety and operating procedures. 
•    Interface with various organizations as requested to complete high priority activities needed to help keep the project progressing on schedule. 
 

Qualifications

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
•    3-5 years’ Operations/Manufacturing experience preferred
