Range Safety Coordinator (Part-Time)

Responsibilities
The Gun Range Coordinator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of TXO’s shooting facility. The Gun Range Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the range, including enforcing safety policies and procedures, maintaining buildings and equipment and scheduling of events. This role ensures a safe and compliant environment for all employees and guests who utilize the facility.
- Supervise range activities: Monitor all shooting areas and range users to enforce strict adherence to safety rules and range commands, and call a "cease-fire" when necessary.
- Enforce safety protocols: Conduct safety briefings for all gun club members, guests, and others, address safety violations, and respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Coordinate training and events: Plan, schedule, and oversee training programs, special events, and competitions for various skill levels and user groups.
- Maintain the facility: Conduct inspections, perform basic maintenance and repair of range equipment, and ensure the overall cleanliness and functionality of the facility.
- Provide customer service: Act as a primary point of contact for gun range members.
- Ensure compliance: Stay up-to-date with and ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations concerning firearms and range operations.
- Administrative duties: Complete necessary reports for incidents, certifications, etc. Provide training to gun range members as required.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to give clear instructions and communicate effectively.
- Problem-solving: The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure, especially during emergencies.
- Customer service: A positive and friendly demeanor to ensure a welcoming experience for all patrons.
- Attention to detail: Precision is critical for enforcing safety protocols and maintaining accurate records as required.
Qualifications
- MINIMUM:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience in firearms handling, law enforcement, or the military.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification is essential for handling medical emergencies.
- PREFERRED:
- 1–3 years of experience as a range safety officer.
- National Rifle Association (NRA) Range Safety Officer (RSO) certification.
- NRA Certified Firearms Instructor.
