Project Estimator/Cost Engineer

Responsibilities
This role is critical to the overall success of the project. This role will be the main interface between the site and the home office for all Project Controls requirements. Individual must be skilled in cost control, estimating, and have a high level of understanding project schedules with a focus on construction schedules.
• Experienced in analyzing data from multiple sources to determine path forwards
• Experienced in estimating and challenging contractor estimates
• Work jointly with home office to develop cost and schedule reports
• Work jointly with home office to develop cash flow, accruals etc.
• Work with Eastman planner / scheduler to develop the construction schedule
• Analyze contractor reports and make recommendations to the PC team
• Review contractor change orders for accuracy. Estimate these changes as required
• Participate in schedule reviews and input / challenge where necessary
• Participate in monthly cost reviews and input / challenge where necessary
• Understand all site inflows of cost to ensure accuracy of reports
• Lead site construction progress validation process
• Assist in any Financial / Accounting audits when required
• Identify any shortcomings for the overall Project Controls and surface to management
Qualifications
• 10+ years of project controls experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
• Strong communicator that can effectively collaborate with multiple contractors
• General computer aptitude and capability with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Experience with SAP
• Experience on large EPCM or EPC projects > $500 Million
• Experience in both cost and schedule risk assessments
• Experience in project benchmarking
• Familiar with schedule analysis and mitigations plan
• Understands complicated schedules for large capital projects.
Location: This position will start in the Fluor office in Houston, Texas (Approx 1 year) and then transition to the construction site in Longview, Texas.
