Position available in the Ethylene Production Department, Chemicals Manufacturing Division, of Eastman Chemical Company located in Longview, TX.


•    Works under the supervision of the Department Superintendent, Ethylene Products. In addition, must work closely with area managers, team managers, operators and engineers.
•    Performs a wide variety of technical duties for the Ethylene Products areas.
•    Supports department Manufacturing Excellence and Essential Operating Discipline initiatives such as alarm rationalization, eLogbook, HMI, procedure workflows (SharePoint), and DCS screen development.
•    Is considered a key department resource for DCS configuration, programming, and maintenance.
•    Troubleshoots process control software and hardware.
•    Work closely with DCS support groups at Eastman to implement changes to the DCS.
•    Maintains configurations, document changes, and coordinate hardware and software improvements on OSI PI data historian.
•    Authors and maintains the DCS procedures.
•    Ensures that an adequate supply of working handheld terminals and other computer equipment for the department.
•    Uses written and oral communication skills to gather and report information.
•    Works primarily indoors in offices and conference room settings
•    Associates or B.S degree in an electronic/engineering technology, instrumentation, process control or similar equivalent technical degree; or a B.S. degree in computer science or computer engineering; or 7 years relevant work experience.
•    Strong working knowledge of personal computers including software, hardware and programming.
•    Clear an effective written and oral communication.
•    Initiative and the ability to work in a team setting.
•    Skills to diagnose and resolve problems.

•    Experience in manufacturing processes.
•    Experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS or other DCS or PLC systems.
•    Experience with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
