As Quality Manager, you’ll report directly to the Site Manager and hold responsibility for maintaining focus and advancing site quality programs and systems.  You’ll lead day-to-day laboratory operations and represent the Quality function on the site Leadership team and in corporate Quality and Technology organizations.  The Quality Manager is responsible for the strategic development of the site’s quality plan as well as overseeing its tactical execution.  You’ll ensure conformance to the Global Quality initiatives, lab safety standards, and Quality policies by providing assurance of the robust application of procedures, work instructions, quality management processes, and KPIs within the site.  You will act as a liaison with the Technology organization to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing capability and commercialization of lubricant and related products to support the business.  


  • Lead the Quality organization, including supervision of the laboratory personnel and oversight of laboratory functions.  Communicate and engage staff in lab safety awareness, quality conformance, and drive Best-In-Class practices, policies, procedures, and methodologies.  Manage performance of the team to deliver superior quality outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and provide assurance of quality processes for manufacturing and ensure effective quality assurance throughout site processes.
  • Manage and maintain the data management systems (LIMS, SAP, etc.) to ensure proper operation and function, including test schedules, SPC, effective product specification checks, and release activities.
  • Manage product stewardship, streamline, and fusion processes and support the SDS process for the site
  • Lead and manage the ISO 9001 quality system and certification.  Ensure the quality system is compliant with ISO 9001 and that the quality system is understood and effective.  Manage the audit program for the facility (internal and external) and ensure follow-up and closure of audit findings. 
  • Manage quality certification of products, coordinate notification of off-spec products, and manage the non-conformance process.  Lead the NC team and oversee control of non-conforming product, disposition of non-conforming material, and tracking corrective and preventative actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities, including managing quality improvement projects, driving the use of SPC and RCA
  • Manage department cost-spend to budget and support budget process 
  • Support Technology and Plant Operations Teams to ensure product quality and integrity is incorporated into commercial manufacturing processes, advising on matters such as product compatibility and co-mingling limitations, flush requirements, sampling requirements, and specific blending instructions that enable safe, effective, reliable, and efficient blending and filling of products that meet the quality specifications and standards of Technology.
  • Liaise with Regulatory bodies for both commercial and military activities.  
  • Maintain key relationships with suppliers and partner with Procurement to manage changes to supplier production facilities, raw materials and capabilities.





  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Previous Manufacturing quality control experience, including experience managing ISO-certified quality systems preferred
  • 5+ years of Quality Control &/or laboratory management experience preferred
  • Superior leadership, written, listening, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to drive continuous Quality improvements and Best-In-Class laboratory practices
  • Strong product knowledge
  • Desirable criteria and qualifications:  
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical or Mechanical) or Applied Science
    • MBA degree
    • Experience in the Petroleum, Aviation, or Chemical Industry
    • Experience implementing Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing
