The Role

 

Eastman is a leader in using commercial-scale molecular recycling for a broad set of virgin-quality like polymer resins for Durables, Cosmetic Packaging, Medical Devices and food industry. These technologies provide a true circular solution for highest quality plastic materials with improved LCA and lower CO2 foodprint. 

This Technical Service Representative function will support large customers and brands of Specialty Plastics, focused on central and northern Europe.

Location: Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, UK (home office based)

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist customers and brands with part & mold design, plastic processing, troubleshooting procedures, material handling, when qualifying our polymers.
  • Responsible for material recommendations converting the voice of the customer into “Critical To Quality”-parameters driving product selection and development
  • Attend internal and external trials to evaluate material processing.
  • Keep up to date with market, application and processing technology developments including competitive material and competing technology developments
  • Identify & document industry and customer specific unmet needs and product fitness for use criteria
  • Provide technical product training to customers, distributors and sales & marketing teams
  • Help develop technical marketing materials for customer engagement
  • Partner with Product Development team to deliver products meeting market needs and adding value to Eastman

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor, PhD or MSc in Polymer Science, Engineering preferred
  • >10 years industrial experience with plastic processing technologies
  • Knowledge in injection molding is a must, further plastic processing skills appreciated (injection blow molding, extrusion blow molding, film extrusion, thermoforming, etc)
  • Excellent customer-facing experience
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, more language skills are preferred
  • Readiness to travel 50% of the time
