Responsibilities
The Turnaround Manager provides leadership throughout all phases of a turnaround and is responsible for optimizing turnaround outcomes by executing the project within budget and on schedule and ensuring that the required operability is achieved. The Turnaround Manager is responsible for coordinating preparation for turnarounds in accordance with the turnaround playbook. Interaction with operations, maintenance, supply chain, engineering, HSES, business and senior management is a key component of the job requirements.
- Manage turnarounds at Kingsport site as assigned
- Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety and executing incident-free turnarounds
- Ensure adherence to Eastman Turnaround Playbook for all assigned turnarounds
- Manage all phases of the turnaround in accordance with established schedules, budget, and customer requirements
- Recognize critical issues and act on them to preclude turnaround problems
- Ahead of Turnaround
- Define milestone dates (e.g. scope freeze, planning complete, etc.)
- Track completion of key deliverables (e.g. supplemental safety plan, checklists for recommissioning and start up, detailed work packages, execution strategy, etc.)
- Lead Turnaround Phase-Gate Reviews and provide regular updates to steering teams
- Ensure appropriate resourcing strategy is developed
- Protect and challenge turnaround scope
- Coordinate development of integrated and optimized schedule
- During and After Turnaround Execution
- Facilitate daily status update meetings
- Provide daily status updates via email to steering team
- Work with turnaround and area personnel to monitor, report, and document the progress of work and provide feedback on budget and schedule deviations
- Communicate performance metrics versus goals and estimates
- Lead turnaround review meeting for future improvement
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in various aspects of the Operations, Maintenance, capital process or comparable experience required
- Direct experience with plant turnarounds is required
- Outstanding communication, coordination & team leadership skills required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering/Industrial Management or Project Management preferred
