As Eastman transforms its portfolio to offer world-class products to enhance the quality of life in a material way, the need to effectively engage with customers to qualify products, troubleshoot processes, and learn about their unmet needs is essential to drive growth.  The Americas Technical Service team within the Specialty Plastics division works directly with regional Sales counterparts to support customer technical needs and identify new opportunities of growth for Eastman. 

Responsibilities


•    Qualif ying new and existing Eastman products on customer assets across the Specialty Plastics portfolio.  This role will support injection molding processing, with the potential to support extrusion and blow molding customers  
•    
Supporting face-to-face and virtual technical meetings, which may require 30-50% travel, mainly within North America, as well as answering technical inquiries concerning Eastman’s Plastics products
•    Understanding the
competitive landscape and how Eastman products are uniquely positioned to meet customer needs
•    Engaging in discovery to inform new areas of opportunity for Eastman to better serve existing and prospective customers
•    Developing and delivering training on Eastman’s Plastics products both internally and externally
•    Generating physical property and performance data to
support technical and marketing needs
•    Assisting in the resolution of quality complaints     

  

Qualifications

 

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Engineering - Required 
•    Minimum of 3 - 5 years prior experience in a relevant field - Required
•    Knowledge of Injection Molding - Required 
•    Prior customer-facing experience – Required
•    Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to rapidly build credibility and rapport with external customers – Required
•    Willingness and ability to travel 30-50%, mainly within North America - Required 
•    Knowledge of Extrusion, Thermoforming, or Blow Molding Processes - Preferred 
•    Understanding of engineering materials used in molded products- Preferred
•    Prior experience with SalesForce - Preferred
