Responsibilities

 

The SEC Team is responsible for all financial filings with the Securities and Exchange Committee. In addition, the team manages complex accounting areas such as restructuring, environmental, variable compensation, pension and other post-employment benefits, derivatives and hedging, goodwill and intangibles, debt, leases, cash flow, joint ventures/investments, and acquisitions/divestitures. The team is comprised of highly visible roles that require significant judgment and communication skills. 

Responsibilities

•    Work with Business Finance, Investor Relations, and responsible stewards to prepare financial statement and footnote disclosures, MD&A, narrative disclosures, and other requirements for 10-Q and 10-K filings
•    Complete tie-out and validation procedures for 10-Q and 10-K requirements, earnings release materials, and supporting documentation for external disclosures 
•    Support timely EDGAR/XBRL filings in accordance with SEC requirements
•    Manage assigned complex accounting processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, maintaining roll-forward schedules, and drafting technical accounting memos
•    Support the external integrated audit and SOX compliance efforts by conducting walkthroughs, providing documentation, and providing explanations for assigned accounting areas of responsibility
•    Coordinate with Treasury and Human Resources to ensure accurate and timely accounting for transactions relating to assigned accounting areas 
•    Serve as technical resources to internal stakeholders and auditors regarding assigned accounting areas of responsibility 
•    In conjunction with the Accounting Policies Manager, assist with accounting and SEC research to support disclosure requirements
•    Drive continuous process and control improvements in SEC reporting and accounting processes, including implementing process automation where appropriate
•    Assist with capital markets activity and other strategic initiatives, as needed
•    Support complex transactions entered by the Company 
•    Provide guidance, consultation, and mentorship to team members in relation to assigned areas of responsibility

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications


•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
•    4+ years’ experience in a corporate environment
•    Excel, Word, Power Point, and Teams skills

•    
Preferred Qualifications

 

•    Advanced degree (MBA or MAcc)
•    Certified Public Accountant (CPA) 
•    Experience with disclosure management tools (Workiva/Wdesk) and ERP systems (SAP)
