Role Profile
The Planning Manager oversees planning and scheduling for Plastics processes globally. This role requires strong analytical skills, leadership, and strong planning acumen. The Planning Manager will guide a team of Integrated Planners and collaborate closely with various cross-functional departments.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for global processes across all planning routines, processes, and tools used in IBP.
- Oversee production scheduling processes and tools to enable the planning community to maximize asset optimization and minimize costs.
- Lead, mentor, and coach the Integrated Planning team, setting clear guidelines, promoting a culture of external focus, a culture of internal value creation, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration; develop a planning community that is setup to provide backup to each other and has flexibility to operate across different assets or product lines.
- Manage and optimize master data across planning systems (SAP, OMP) with responsibility of the quality of this master data.
- Conduct regular cross-functional meetings to review supply chain performance and strategies.
- Develop KPIs and targets for the team leveraging the IBP reports and suggested metrics. Analyze and report on key S&OE and S&OP metrics to inform decision-making and maintain operational control and stability.
- Develop approaches to efficiently conduct "what-if" scenario modeling to propose solutions for varying supply and demand conditions.
- Ensure tools and systems result in adherence to inventory targets and oversee refresh of stock calculations regularly.
- Drive continuous improvement in Plastics planning processes, tools, and models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management or planning roles.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with planning software (SAP, OMP).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus.
- APICS CPIM Certification is a plus.
- Ability to work strategically and operationally, with a proactive and team-oriented approach.
