In this role, you’ll lead Rapid Reliability Improvement (RRI) efforts in high demand, high-margin manufacturing assets which are experiencing significant loss in variable margin due to the inability of the area to consistently produce to meet demand/commitments. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Champion Eastman Zero Incident Mindset through focus on reducing unplanned operational events through consistent, disciplined reliability and asset integrity management.  
  • Identify, prioritize, and resource improvement efforts in areas with highest variable margin losses.
  • Lead team in structured assessment of an areas lost production data, management systems and work practices to help identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive short and medium term RRI actions to completion through active engagement with site leadership and Global Reliability Program Managers. Ensure site has management systems in place for long term success.
  • Assist sites in matching resource needs with existing Eastman expertise.
  • Identify, capture, and share best practices
  • Ensure effectiveness of corporate Production Loss Accounting (PLA) KPIs, Dashboards and Heat Map.
  • Support the Global Reliability Program Managers in leading reliability improvement in high-priority cases across the enterprise by: 
    • Promoting the use of corporate reliability standards, processes, and capabilities
    • Developing and implementing corporate reliability standards, processes, and capabilities
  • Report to Reliability Capability Center Leadership on a regular basis on prioritized reliability opportunities, reliability value captured and issues requiring support or decision 
  • Indicators of Performance – Each engagement will include specific deliverables and objectives, but these will frequently include
    • Reduction in Lost Production (versus baseline) or Variable Margin improvement
    • Structural Cost Reduction
    • Playbook adoption (particular emphasis on Reliability Management System)

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering
  • At least 5 years’ operations management experience 
  • Ability to analyze data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Detailed knowledge of reliability and reliability management systems.
  • Comfortable in the field, in the shop, and in team and 1:1 interaction
  • Demonstrated track record in clear and inspiring oral & written communication
  • Moderate travel will be required to support assigned manufacturing assets (estimated 10-20%)
  • Passion for learning & personal growth
  • Excellent at team leadership & influence without direct authority
  • Ability to build high credibility with maintenance & manufacturing leaders
