Responsibilities

The Logistic Procurement Manager – North America Rail is responsible for developing the strategy for a critical mode for Eastman, negotiating the agreements with strategic suppliers, driving the relationships with external suppliers and internal business stakeholders to achieve a collaborative relationship that yields best in class cost to serve for Eastman and its’ customers. The Rail Category is significant to Eastman for both raw materials and customer shipments across North America for some of our largest manufacturing sites. As a result, this is a high profile and high impact procurement role. The incumbent of this role leads highly complex supplier and internal relationships with a significant amount of logistics spend under management on a highly consolidated supplier market. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop sourcing strategy for assigned category
  • Includes understanding business needs
  • Market analysis of the industry inclusive of sustainability, digital and safety trends. 
  • Short term and long-term view
  • Procurement Plans & RFP execution
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in a formal and stage gated procurement process. 
  • Eastman subject matter expert on the category:
  • Including understanding financial performance of suppliers & internal businesses
  • Develops innovative options to achieve business needs
  • Negotiation of Contracts to support strategies
  • Develop a variety of options to meet current and future business needs
  • Develop & foster a relationship network within the suppliers
  • In conjunction with Logistics Operations, drive SRMs for key suppliers
  • Communication with SC and other conduits to business as appropriate
  • Part of escalation chain for vendor performance issues and crisis management
  • Collaborate with rate auditing on freight payment & improvement; ensures E2E thinking is applied to the entire procure 2 pay process. 
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, or related field 
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of sourcing and procurement experience preferred
