Responsibilities

 

The RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) Technologist – Process Specialist position in Worldwide Engineering & Construction (WWE&C) will provide support for Eastman Manufacturing Facilities. Key job functions include:

-    Work directly with Manufacturing Area Process Experts and Process Safety to develop consequence of failure for vessels and piping based on operating conditions and chemicals.
-    Identify process system boundaries based on supplied operating parameters and chemical composition.
-    Identify chemical hazards (flammability, toxicity, health), risks, process conditions, contaminants, physical characteristics of process streams. 
-    Serve as liaison between Manufacturing Areas and Engineering/Inspection.
-    Review vessel and piping history in available databases (Pressure Vessel Repository, GEAPM).
-    Document risk ranking on vessels and piping.  This data will be used to determine appropriate inspection intervals.
-    Determine consequence of failure impact resulting from MOCs and SERs.

 

Qualifications

 

-    Operator Apprenticeship Program (OAP) with 7 years of Operations/Manufacturing experience or Associates Degree/College Diploma with 5 years of experience
-    Competence in the MOC process, PHA studies, SAP, etc.
-    Knowledge of P&IDs, HMBs/PFDs, and equipment drawings
-    Familiarity with chemicals and industrial chemical process hazards
-    Experience with using Microsoft Excel.
