Responsibilities

The Product Steward, Fibers serves as a vital connection between Eastman’s Business Unit (SBU) and the global Product Stewardship - Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) organization, focusing on tobacco and textile segments. The role ensures compliance, market access, and strategic alignment by building relationships with Product, Marketing, and Technology Management teams while providing regulatory insights and support.

 

Responsibilities:


1.    Regulatory Insights:

  • Collaborate with global regulatory teams to monitor and adapt to emerging regulations affecting products, raw materials, and additives.
  • Support efficient development and commercialization of new products.

 

2.    Business Relationship Management:

  • Build strong connections with SBU representatives and technology teams.
  • Develop PSRA strategies aligned with business goals while proactively identifying regulatory risks and opportunities.

 

3.    Project Management & Execution:

  • Facilitate global registrations, certifications, and regulatory clearances.
  • Engage early in product development (Stage Gate projects), ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Create timelines, estimate costs, compile documentation, and manage regulatory dossiers.

 

4.    Advocacy:

  • Drive advocacy strategies to protect market access and influence new legislation.
  • Collaborate with Governmental Relations and external networks, participate in industry groups, and implement product defense tactics.

 

5.    Customer Communication:

  • Respond to inquiries regarding product safety and compliance.
  • Develop communication strategies for regulatory changes impacting products.
  • Represent Eastman in customer, supplier, and end-user meetings as a regulatory expert.

 

 

This role begins with a focus on fibers and offers growth opportunities into additional areas. It requires hands-on regulatory leadership to support business strategies and enable market access for current and future products.
 

 

Qualifications

•    Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related technical degree required
•    Technical experience in Fibers a plus
•    Proven track record in project management
•    Experience with cross-functional teams
•    Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally <20 %.

Location: The position is located in NA, preferably Kingsport, TN and reports to the Global PSRA Manager, CASE/SFE/CI/Fibers
