The Product & Pricing Center of Excellence is a key part of Eastman’s updated business operating model which, along with COEs in Marketing and Sales, have a mandate to build and elevate Eastman’s enterprise-wide commercial capability. Sitting within the Strategy & Commercial Excellence group- the Product Center of Excellence is charged with a variety of strategic initiatives and advancements including but not limited to:

  • Developing and driving breakthrough best practices: for Product Management, Product Strategy, Asset Strategy, Pricing Strategy, Price Setting, and Price Execution.
  • Drive enhanced performance and efficiency through harmonization of strategically important processes and metrics
  • Partner with individual businesses to lead specific high value product and pricing projects
  • Partner with Eastman Digital services team to define and lead technology innovations to enhance commercial capabilities of product and pricing management
  • Developing talent within the product and pricing function at Eastman through learning & development activities, tools, processes and methodologies, development of skills and competencies

Responsibilities

 

The Product Excellence Manager is designed to be a senior position within the COE, leading teams and projects to drive the initiatives listed above.  These teams will typically consist of members from the various businesses, managers and analysts from the corporate strategy, partners within other COEs, as well as leaders from other functions such as Talent, Data Science, Digital Enablement, etc.

 

The product excellence manager will be regularly expected to:

  • Lead cross functional teams to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Engage with Division and Executive leadership teams to drive program alignment and support.
  • Identify, develop, and deploy best practices across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Deliver and receive honest and direct feedback in a way that helps drive both high accountability and psychological safety for teams and stakeholders.
  • Quickly build credibility and stakeholder trust.
  • Drive effective change management throughout the Eastman organization
  • Facilitating and coaching a range of workshops and/or trainings.
  • Partner with the regional sales and marketing excellence counterparts to ensure consistency in delivering commercial excellence initiatives.
  • Support both internal and external talent acquisition, through talent assessment and talent pipeline managements.

Education and Experience

 

  • MBA or Equivalent Degree / Diploma
  • Technical qualification in Chemistry (or Engineering sciences) with a significant number of years in a commercial function, or, Executive education.
  • 8-10 years’ experience in commercial roles, including meaningful experience in chemical product management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, influence, and drive change within an organization
  • Preferably been part of an organization’s transformation.
  • Have both breadth and depth of product and pricing knowledge.
  • Experience in a range of product tools and methodologies.
