Product Excellence Manager

The Commercial Center of Excellence (CoE) is responsible for building world class commercial capability within Eastman. This includes improving the performance of our people, processes, and systems.  The Product Excellence Manager is a member of the Product and Pricing CoE and responsible for building strong capabilities in our businesses, as well as advanced standardized processes and tools. This role is a key partner for businesses as they develop and execute their strategies related to product, asset, and margin management that will drive Eastman’s transformation.
Capability Building
•    Support global development and drive implementation of product management, pricing, and profitability capability efforts. This includes competency assessment and development of training curriculum to close gaps, managing the talent pipeline for succession planning, and onboarding of new product and pricing managers.  
•    Work with leadership in fact-based assessment of product/pricing managers. Develop and implement plans to close gaps.
•    Develop best practices for product and asset management, including strategy development, price setting and optimization, product line teams, and BOM routines.
•    Develop best practices for market segment offer execution and development of new offer elements.   
•    Consistently identify and evaluate external best practices.
•    Serve as an expert coach for product, price, and profitability management.
Process, Technology, and Data
•    Develop IT roadmap in partnership with IT to support processes and business requirements. Drive consistent implementation across businesses and regions.
•    Identify and lead targeted analytics projects with businesses to drive margin improvement. 
•    Drive improvements in pricing, cost, and profitability data and reporting.
•    Lead change management efforts (including communications, training, and sponsor strategies) as related to product and pricing management.

•    Champion and support continuous improvement. Work with the businesses and functional partners to proactively identify improvement opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of product, asset, and margin management.  
•    Oversee key performance metrics and analytics (including target setting) and drive gap closure within the business.  Leverage analysis to effectively advise on performance improvements opportunities.    
•    Evaluate and recommend pricing models and strategy for business archetypes.

•    Effectively communicate and build credibility & trust with Product and Pricing Managers and Directors. 

•    Serve as a resource for acquisitions as related to the product/pricing functions.


•    Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA degree preferred
•    Min. 8 years of experience in sales, marketing, product, and/or price management (or related discipline)
•    Complex project leadership experience and capability
•    Demonstrated experience in product management preferred
•    Strong business/financial acumen
