Procurement Representative

Description

The Procurement Representative is responsible for sourcing and procuring assigned goods and services to support Eastman's manufacturing and capital project operations. This role manages supplier relationships, competitive bidding, contract and agreement administration, supplier onboarding, and procure-to-pay activities to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and operational efficiency. Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, the Procurement Representative identifies cost-saving opportunities, resolves procurement issues, and serves as a trusted resource within assigned categories while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.

Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

• Responsible for procurement of assigned goods and services while utilizing market intelligence, supplier relationships, and negotiation strategies to obtain the best commercial value and supply solutions for Eastman.
• Support strong supplier relationships to ensure operational and business requirements.
• Coordinate with Sourcing Manager to negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial conditions while exercising sound business judgment.
• Obtain and support bid analysis, quotations, and spot-buy opportunities to determine optimal solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on procurement processes.

Cost Management

• Support bid evaluations and comparison analyses for stakeholder review and supplier selection decisions.
• Identify and implement cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation opportunities without negatively impacting service, quality, or supply continuity.
• Continuously work to minimize total transaction costs and improve procurement efficiency.

Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Operations

• Process and document procure-to-pay transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with Sourcing Managers, Accounts Payable, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction processing.
• Support purchase order creation, revisions, and administration as needed.
• Resolve blocked invoice issues and facilitate timely payment processing.
• Assist stakeholders with supplier-related issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Supplier Onboarding & Agreement Management

• Initiate and support new vendor setup activities, ensuring compliance with company requirements.
• Advise stakeholders on supplier onboarding requirements and facilitate completion of GMN setup processes.
• Initiate, implement, and maintain outline agreements and preferred supplier arrangements.
• Maintain supplier records and supporting documentation within company systems.

• Assist with contract development
• Uphold and ensure compliance with internal policies, procurement procedures, applicable regulations, and legal requirements.
• Maintain procurement records and supporting documentation in accordance with company standards.

Stakeholder & Operational Support

• Collaborate closely with plant personnel, operations, maintenance, sourcing managers, and other stakeholders to ensure business needs are met.
• Actively support urgent requests for quotations, shipment coordination, purchase order placement, and other procurement activities required to meet production and project deadlines.
• Proactively communicate procurement status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, purchasing, or related commercial functions.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals and business tradeoffs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Preferred

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or capital-intensive environments.
• Knowledge of procure-to-pay processes and procurement best practices.
• Experience with supplier onboarding, contract administration, and invoice resolution.
• Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise procurement systems.
• Experience supporting maintenance, operations, indirect materials, MRO, or capital project procurement.
