Job Description:
This is a Part-Time position, approximately 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
The Permit Coordinator will perform the following duties:
- Review requests for hot work, confined space entry, decontamination, and pre-job walkdowns.
- Review job setup with operations and maintenance personnel and analyze the atmosphere around the work for the presence of O2, CO2, H2S and combustible gases
- Conduct audits for hot work, confined space, and contractor safety
- Inspect, calibration, and repair gas analyzer for the Safety and Emergency Services Personnel
- Verify isolation of radioactive sources prior to confined space entry
- In emergency situations, permit coordinators will report to Dispatch, when needed, to assist Emergency Services personnel as needed.
Qualifications:
Candidate must have:
- A good understanding of Maintenance or Operations processes.
- Strong customer focus, with demonstrated ability to solve complex issues or problems.
- Must have good interpersonal, communication, and team skills. This position will interact with personnel in all organizations.
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry Standards and the Eastman Site Practices Manual.
- Good collaboration and consultation skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests simultaneously.
- Prefer experience with MSA Altair Multigas analyzers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
Required:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- 3-5 years operations or maintenance experience preferred.
- Emergency Response Training (EMT, Fire fighter, etc.) is beneficial but not required.
- Completion of NCRC WorkKeys assessments preferred:
- Applied Mathematics - Level 6
- Graphic Literacy - Level 5
- Workplace Documents - Level 6
