Job Description:

Fibers Global Quality Repack Operator (Part-Time)

The Acetate Spinning Department is seeking a part-time Global Quality Repack Operator. 

This position will report to the Quality Team Manager.

 

Schedule:    This part-time position will be a day shift position, depending upon manufacturing needs.

Job Expectations:

The role of a repack operator is to aid Quality Assurance (QA) Representatives support Quality Assurance activities.  The selected candidate will  work closely with members of Fibers Global Quality (FGQ) to assist in issues/duties related to yarn quality.  This position will report to Quality Team Manager who will assign and manage the workload for the position in conjunction with the Yarn TSO and Quality Assurance representative. 

 

Training is provided for various aspects of the job.  While the TSO or QA rep provides instructions and directions, it is expected that the candidate who fills the position can work independently and is willing to communicate and work with a variety of supporting organizations (such as Manufacturing, Tech Service, Analytical Support Lab, and Technology.)

 

The selected candidate will be expected to complete the required on the job training and show satisfactory performance/dependability in the job.

 

Completion of the required training will be monitored as part of the Performance Management Development and Coaching process.

Responsibilities:

 

The Repack operator’s duties may include the following:

  • Promote safety and high-quality job performance in all aspects of the repack operator role.
  • Develop and maintain a general working knowledge of the MESA computer applications for repack operations.
  • Assist QA representative, TSO and others with customer complaint investigation and resolution through previous job experiences.
  • Use the MESA applications to calibrate the scales and weigh out cases/tray packs.
  • Use the MESA applications to correctly print and label cases/tray packs and yarn packages.
  • Obtain stacker license and operate a stacker to move cases/tray packs within the repack area, load and unload trailers and for general transport of materials.
  • Be able to recall yarn cases for testing or repacking.
  • Be able to hold yarn cases by spinning position.
  • Be able to operate the blue streak cutter to process waste packages.
  • Be able to operate the three-wheel delivery vehicle to transport packages to lab, TAPS, etc.
  • Be able to add and delete packages from yarn cases.
  • Be able to recall yarn cases from the warehouse.
  • Be able to unpack, inspect, and pack yarn cases/tray packs by sorting out defective packages and replacing them with good quality packages.
  • Communicate with warehousing, TAPS operators, Quality, manufacturing, and lab personnel to ensure yarn quality problems are resolved promptly.

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work a day shift, 4-5 days/week depending on work schedule.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in using a computer and have the willingness to further learn computer skills (Microsoft Office programs, SAP, PIMS, LIMS, etc.).

 

Preferred:

  • Acetate yarn experience and skills preferred.
